The ACCUPLACER Arithmetic Test is an important tool that colleges use to gauge your skills. It is given in multiple choice format, and there is no time limit for completing the test. Your performance, however, is assessed by the computer as you take the test. Your responses control the difficulty of the following question or set of questions. The ACCUPLACER Arithmetic Test consists of 17 different questions of three types. You are tested on standard mathematical operations with whole numbers and fractions, and on decimals and percentages. The test also covers problem solving and applying rates, measurements, geometry, and other basic arithmetic skills to real-world problems. When you finish, a detailed set of results and analyses shows you where to focus your efforts.
Once you complete the ACCUPLACER Arithmetic sample questions, you are shown how many questions were answered correctly and how many were not. There’s a summary and score shown as well. You’ll also see your percentile, which compares your score to how others have done on the same practice test, plus graphs and bar charts that assess your answers. A Questions Overview will display the time you spent on each individual question. It also shows the average time it takes others to solve the question, a difficulty gauge, and the percentage of people who answer it correctly. The correct response is shown, and you can click to expand an explanation of why it is the right answer.
