On the weekend you might find me running with my dog, playing board games with my daughters, snowboarding, or just hanging out with a book. I love learning new languages...

Nicole ...Michigan- Ross School of Business. I tutor in mostly math subjects, but also tutor in essay writing/editing as well as ACT and GMAT. I have tutored athletes throughout college and also tutored in high school. My tutoring style mostly involves asking leading questions so a student can figure out the correct answer on their own with some guidance. Outside of academia, I love to cook, hang out with friends and watch sports.... I would give the student practice problems to see what topics they may be struggling with the most so that we can focus on those first.

Lexington ...pride myself on my ability to differentiate my teaching style to ensure each student reaches his or her potential. I have experience working with students of all education levels, from those with special education needs to those involved in gifted programs like G.A.T.E or honors courses. I have tutored students ranging from ages 6 to adult. I look forward to working with you and your children to help them achieve their education goals!... Everything is learnable. Any student can learn anything. The idea that we are predetermined to be only good at one subject is a self-fulfilling one. When I was in 5th grade a teacher told me not to try so hard in math because I was "more of an English student." Grade 6 was the first year I did not achieve an A in math, and the subsequent hit to my confidence lead me to avoid math for many years. Then, as a math teacher, I saw this same philosophy in my students; many felt they just "weren't good at math." I don't believe this. Whatever the subject is, it is simply a matter of discipline, resilience and practice.

Wayne I enjoy the process of showing a student how a very few math rules has so much power the enables them to solve so many different types of problems.
Jack I'm a recent grad from Northwestern (B.A. in Theatre and Economics) who loves teaching and learning. I love helping other people achieve their goals and helping students find ways to be their best selves. Excited to meet and work with Chicagoland's students!... I like to discuss the idea of intent. An author doesn't write for the sake of writing, just as a scientist doesn't build graphs for the sake of building a graph. These are tools that people are using to communicate something underneath. Once we reframe to focus on intent, interpreting information becomes a lot more engaging.
